about
There is a right of passage in my family that once you turn 8, you get to go on your first backpacking trip with dad. This starts the healthy lifelong obsession with all things outdoors. In fifth grade, I was assigned to invent something to improve my life. I created a backpacking shade, which I called, lite shade. I dislike wearing hats as I believe it impedes my vision but I still like to keep the sun off my face. This invention solved my problem and since then, many of my siblings have used it.

Ever since that project, I have loved inventing and creating anything I could think of. To support this I have taken many classes in and out of school to learn as much as I could. I have witnessed and experienced how much influence a quality garment can have on a person. Especially when it comes to the practical world of the outdoors. I lean toward the fashion portion of the invention process and love to fabricate clothes that help people feel that magic. I create to bring my vision of beauty and practicality into the outdoor fashion world. I chose the OPDD major to help me accomplish this goal. I want to expand my circle of influence, improve, and multiply my skills. Creating in any form is my passion, and I enjoy doing this to the best of my ability as I plan to create for the rest of my life!
